| Say good bye to stress | |
| Whether it’s pressure at work, the need for money, or challenges at home, few people are insulated from feeling stressed from time to time. For some of us, stress is a daily burden. In fact, according to the American Psychological Association, 47 percent of Americans say they are troubled by stress. The top reasons? Money, work, and health concerns. In the UK, a report suggests that 13 million working days are lost each year as a result of stress-related issues. Does prayer offer a way to come to grips with problems without being stressed? Jesus said, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matt. 11:28). In this chat with Ron Mangelsdorf, an experienced practitioner and teacher of Christian Science, you’ll hear spiritual ideas about how one can be set free from stress permanently. About Ron Mangelsdorf: Born and raised in the Chicago suburbs, Ron Mangelsdorf is a Christian Science practitioner and teacher who now resides in Alaska. Ron received an engineering degree from the University of Illinois, served four years as the Committee on Publication for Alaska, and also worked at The First Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston for three years. Ron and his wife have three children. |

| Rabbi expresses his respect for Christian Science | |
| At a Wednesday noon service at The First Church of Christ, Scientist Boston, MA (also known as The Mother Church), a Jewish rabbi stood up and gave his thanks for a healing that occurred with his father four years ago through Christian Science. His father was deemed terminally ill and this rabbi came from Israel to be with him for his final days. He said that basically his father's room at home had been set up as a hospital room with round the clock care by medical nurses. The rabbi took a walk that first day and happened to go by the Christian Science Reading Room in Coronado, CA during the two hours it was open! He went in and was inspired with what he learned. He came home and told his father that he would be healed. At the end of the first day, medication was reduced. Each day, the rabbi went to the Reading Room learned more and would come home to find his father's condition improved. The next day his father requested food for the first time in three months. Following day, he came out of his room and sat on the couch to watch TV which he had not done in months. Another day, he was ready to get out of the house and go for a drive. The fifth day he decided he wanted to gain back control of his fiduciary responsibilities. In order to do so, he needed to be medically checked out. So the rabbi took his father to one of the hospitals in San Diego and they rode up the elevator to the top floor with his father joking and laughing the whole way. He was checked out and found to be of sound health and able to take back his financial responsibilities. |
